Role and Responsibilities:

As a K12 Education Substitute, you will step into the classroom during teacher absences to maintain consistency in instruction and classroom routines. You will deliver assigned lessons, manage daily classroom operations, and foster positive student participation while following school guidelines and professional standards.

• Execute lesson plans and classroom activities as outlined by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a well-managed classroom by reinforcing rules, guiding student behavior, and addressing challenges as they occur.
• Track and report student attendance, including absences and any noteworthy classroom incidents.
• Oversee students during non-instructional times such as lunch periods, recess, and class transitions.
• Prepare detailed post-assignment reports summarizing lessons completed, student engagement, and follow-up needs.
• Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and professional conduct expectations.
• Support individual learners by providing clarification, encouragement, and academic assistance when appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or tutoring settings is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and sustain a focused learning environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to adjust to different schools, grade levels, and lesson plans.
• Dependability, punctuality, and readiness to accept assignments on short notice.
• Organizational skills to accurately maintain records and complete required documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree or completed coursework in an education-related field.
• At least 30 college credits or a valid state-issued substitute teaching permit for non-certified roles.
• Active teaching certification or license for certified substitute teaching positions.
• Experience working across multiple grade levels or within diverse educational settings.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Daily pay typically ranging from $100 to $200, based on district requirements and assignment type.
