Role and Responsibilities:

As a Autism Support Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and providing individualized instruction that supports both academic learning and emotional development. You will help maintain a structured classroom environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote consistent student progress.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect each student’s unique needs
Plan and deliver lessons using a variety of teaching methods to keep students engaged
Maintain a well-organized classroom that promotes safety, routine, and positive behavior
Monitor student progress and complete all required reports and documentation accurately
Support and guide classroom staff to ensure student plans are applied consistently

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree along with a current Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification
Minimum of three months’ experience working with individuals with disabilities
Understanding of child development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management techniques
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead classroom activities and collaborate effectively with a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with students with autism or emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges
Knowledge of therapeutic practices within educational settings
Additional certifications or training in behavior intervention or social-emotional learning
