QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's Degree or 48 credits from an accredited college or university; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license preferred
• Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations
• Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student.
• Tutoring or teaching experience preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide learning opportunities for students who are unable to participate in a school environment due to illness, suspension, or expulsion.
• Provide a safe and positive environment in place of the teacher or paraprofessional;
• Monitor and supervise students through effective classroom management;
• Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement;
• Implement lesson plans obtained from classroom teachers
• Use innovative approaches, and instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn;
• Tutor in areas in order to assist students with the completion of work.
• Maintain records for reporting students' progress and attendance.

Time sheets need to be submitted for payment.

Terms of Employment/Salary/Work Year:

This is an hourly position delivering services on an as-needed basis. The schedule is determined by the needs of the student(s).

Hours shall not exceed 10 per week, per student and/or small group of students.

$35 per hour (non-certified)

$45 per hour (certified)
