Role and Responsibilities:
The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This role focuses on fostering meaningful relationships with children and families while delivering high-quality educational experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
- Design and implement hands-on learning activities that support children's developmental milestones and educational growth.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and active participation.
- Observe and assess children's progress to support individualized learning and development.
- Maintain open and effective communication with families regarding children's daily experiences, achievements, and developmental progress.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment by following established health and safety procedures.
- Implement developmentally appropriate practices that support children's overall well-being and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver engaging curriculum and classroom experiences.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive environment that respects the unique needs and backgrounds of all children.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of required early childhood education coursework and child development studies.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging learning experiences that support child development.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive educational environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, children, and educational teams.
- Must meet all applicable background screening and employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Additional coursework in infant and toddler development.
- Experience working in preschool, child care, daycare, or early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of child development theories and early learning best practices.
