Role and Responsibilities:
As an Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will contribute to a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment for young learners. You will partner closely with lead teachers and center staff to support KinderCare’s curriculum, assist with individualized learning goals, and develop strong connections with families. This position offers the chance to inspire curiosity, promote confidence, and nurture a lifelong love of learning in every child.
- Support lead teachers in delivering KinderCare’s developmentally appropriate curriculum focused on exploration, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
- Oversee and interact with children to promote safety and well-being in accordance with licensing and health regulations.
- Build positive, respectful, and nurturing relationships with children while communicating professionally with families and colleagues.
- Encourage hands-on learning experiences that help children solve problems, explore interests, and learn new skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and center leadership to maintain smooth daily operations and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Assist with setting up classroom activities, preparing learning materials, and keeping the environment organized, clean, and inviting.
- Participate in training and professional development to support ongoing growth and career advancement.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meets state qualifications for early childhood teaching roles or is willing to obtain required credentials.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and follow guidance from lead teachers and center management.
- Strong interest in working with young children and supporting their development.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Physically able to engage with children, lift up to 40 pounds, and participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- CDA or early childhood coursework preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or interest in pursuing certification with organizational support.
- Understanding of child development concepts and age-appropriate teaching practices.
