Position Summary:
The role of the Early College Academic Tutor is to support students’ academic learning and achievement in early college coursework. The ideal candidate should possess excellent instructional skills to provide academic support to students in a variety of early college course offerings, including but not limited to Social Ethics, Composition, and H istory . Additionally, tutors may provide ELA, Science, and Math tutoring to build preparedness for early college courses. Ongoing support and intervention are provided via a multi-tiered system of support model and includes developing individual, small-group, and whole-group instructional scaffolds, academic tools, and lessons. Academic tutors will visit early college classrooms during office hours, support blocks, study halls, and after school tutoring sessions.
