TITLE:Exceptional Children Teacher (Adapted) - General Curriculum
QUALIFICATIONS:N.C. Teacher Certification, EC General Curriculum License; Previous experience as an EC Resource Teacher Preferred.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.SUPERVISES:May coordinate and direct activities of paraprofessional and/or clerical assistants.
SALARY:NC Teacher Salary + 18% supplement (Plus 2% for Exceptional Children Endorsement)

REPORTS TO:The school principal or his/her designee
JOB GOAL:
1. responsible for teaching all areas of the curriculum
2. responsible for teaching K-12 students (all levels)
3. comfort level working in a hospital setting with students who have serious illnesses and injuries
4. strong interpersonal relationships
5. strong communication skills in English and Spanish
6. this position will work part-time in Pedatrics (working with burn patients) and part-time as a school-wide support for Spanish speaking students and families
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Ten-month year. Salary in accordance with certification and placement on the adopted schedule.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education policy on the evaluation of teachers.
