Child Care Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

The Child Care Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This role involves fostering meaningful relationships with children and families while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom experience.

• Plan and implement hands-on learning activities that support children's developmental needs and interests.
• Create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
• Observe and monitor children's progress, development, and daily activities.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's milestones and experiences.
• Ensure the classroom remains safe, clean, organized, and compliant with all applicable policies and procedures.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development through age-appropriate practices.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to develop and implement engaging curriculum and learning experiences.
• Provide attentive supervision and care to ensure the well-being and safety of all children.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Related college-level coursework or Child Development Associate (CDA) coursework required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) for children.
• Ability to create engaging learning experiences tailored to children's developmental stages.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment.
• Must meet all applicable background check and employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities.
• Passion for supporting early childhood learning and development.
