Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking dependable and passionate K–12 Substitute Teachers to join our network of education professionals. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for ensuring continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will implement lesson plans, manage student behavior, and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.

• Deliver lesson plans by following the absent teacher’s instructions and providing a meaningful educational experience for students
• Maintain classroom management, ensure students follow rules, and address behavioral issues when they arise
• Take and report accurate attendance, including student absences and incidents
• Supervise students during non-classroom periods such as lunch, recess, and transitions
• Provide feedback at the end of each assignment, outlining activities completed, student behavior, and any issues requiring follow-up
• Follow school policies, procedures, and guidelines while representing the school professionally
• Support student learning by providing individualized assistance when necessary

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
• Previous experience working with children in classrooms, daycares, or tutoring is highly desirable but not required
• Confidence managing classroom behavior and maintaining a focused learning environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Adaptability to new schools, grade levels, and lesson plans
• Punctuality, dependability, and willingness to accept short-notice assignments
• Ability to stay organized, maintain records, and prepare reports

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree or education-related coursework is preferred
• At least 30 college credits or a state substitute teaching permit for non-certified roles
• A valid teaching license or certification for certified substitute teacher positions
• Experience in diverse education settings or multiple grade levels
