Role and Responsibilities:
As a Childcare Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a classroom environment filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will support children through engaging activities and meaningful daily experiences while helping maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and classroom activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Engage directly with children during learning activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor play
- Observe children’s development and share progress updates with the Lead Teacher
- Build positive relationships with families through daily communication
- Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports
- Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create engaging and nurturing learning experiences
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine care for children and commitment to their safety and well-being
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
- Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare or early education center
- Experience supporting infant, toddler, or preschool classrooms
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning
