Long Term Substitute Paraprofessional

Job Goal: To provide support to classroom teacher(s) by assisting students with disabilities and/or behavioral challenges. The position focuses on promoting positive student behavior, implementing behavior management strategies, and supporting students in developing the skills necessary for success in the classroom.

Temporary Assignment: ASAP to December

Monday-Friday: 7 hours

Assist classroom teacher(s) in implementing accommodations, modifications, and behavior intervention plans aligned with students’ individual needs.

Support students in developing self-regulation, social, and problem-solving skills.

Reinforce positive behaviors and apply consistent behavioral supports under teacher or specialist guidance.

Collect data on student behaviors and progress as directed.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

Collaborate with staff to support the implementation of strategies that promote student engagement and access to the general curriculum.

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  
  Experience working in a high school setting is strongly preferred.
  
  Knowledge of behavioral management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and positive behavior supports is preferred.
  
  Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and support staff to maintain a structured and supportive learning environment.
• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
