Academic Tutor and Mentor

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Academic Tutor and Mentor, you will work closely with students to enhance their academic skills and foster positive personal growth. You will actively engage in classroom support, one-on-one tutoring, and mentorship initiatives that drive measurable student outcomes.

• Provide individualized academic tutoring in subjects such as reading, math, and science.
• Model positive behavior and social-emotional skills for students.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their academic and personal development.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify student needs and monitor progress.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and achievement.
• Track and report on student progress using assessment tools and data collection methods.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with youth in educational or mentorship settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students effectively.
• Ability to plan, organize, and deliver targeted instructional support.
• Commitment to supporting student growth and promoting equity in education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience tutoring or mentoring in an academic setting.
• Knowledge of strategies to support diverse learning needs and social-emotional development.
• Familiarity with data-driven approaches to track student progress.
