Role and Responsibilities:
As an Teacher Aide, you will help create a secure, inclusive, and engaging classroom for young children. You will work closely with lead teachers and center staff to put KinderCare’s curriculum into action, assist with individual learning needs, and build trusting relationships with families. In this role, you will help spark creativity, build confidence, and inspire a love for learning in every child.
- Partner with lead teachers to implement KinderCare’s developmentally appropriate curriculum built around exploration, creative expression, and social-emotional learning.
- Supervise and interact with children to promote safety and well-being, while following licensing and health standards.
- Form positive, respectful relationships with children and communicate clearly and professionally with families and colleagues.
- Encourage hands-on learning experiences that support problem-solving, curiosity, and new skill development.
- Collaborate with teachers and leadership to maintain smooth classroom routines and contribute to a supportive work environment.
- Assist with classroom materials, activity setup, and maintaining a clean, organized, and child-friendly space.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development for continued learning and growth.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meets state guidelines for early childhood teaching positions or willing to complete required qualifications.
- Ability to work well within a team and follow guidance from lead teachers and center leadership.
- Strong dedication to working with young children and supporting their development.
- Effective communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Physically able to engage with children, lift up to 40 pounds, and participate in active indoor and outdoor play.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- CDA or early childhood education coursework preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-age children.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or interest in pursuing it with organizational support.
- Understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning practices.
