Substitute Teacher

Position Overview:

ESS Direct is seeking reliable and motivated Substitute Teachers to support classroom instruction when regular teachers are absent. In this role, you will help maintain continuity in the learning process by following lesson plans, guiding students through daily activities, and ensuring a positive and structured classroom environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop teaching experience, build valuable classroom management skills, and contribute to the educational success of students.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Implement and deliver the daily lesson plans prepared by the regular classroom teacher.
• Provide instruction and support to students while maintaining a productive learning environment.
• Ensure classroom routines and school policies are followed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Report any student injuries, illnesses, or serious disciplinary issues to school administration.
• Assist students in understanding subject material and completing assigned work.
• Perform additional duties as directed by school administration.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 30 college credits for non-certified substitute teachers.
• Valid NJ CE, CEAS, or Standard Teacher Certification for certified candidates.
• Substitute certification where required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with students and staff.
• Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
• Ability to manage classroom activities and maintain a structured learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience.
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Interest in pursuing a long-term career in education.

Compensation and Benefits:

ESS Direct offers a competitive compensation package with daily pay ranging from $90 to $140 depending on qualifications and experience.
