Assistant Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment where children can thrive. You will help guide young learners through educational and developmental activities while building positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.

• Assist in creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom environment
• Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging educational activities
• Encourage children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
• Build strong partnerships with parents through open and consistent communication
• Assist with classroom organization, daily routines, and learning activities
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support children's developmental goals

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to pass a background check
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine empathy and understanding of children's developmental needs
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom and community needs
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators and families
• Physical capability to meet the demands of working with young children

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education or coursework in Early Childhood Education
• Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early education center
• Experience supporting classroom learning and child development activities
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning
