Role and Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs Teacher, your main responsibility will be to provide individualized instruction and support to students with unique learning needs. You will focus on implementing and tracking their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), while collaborating with colleagues and families to ensure measurable progress for each student.

Deliver instruction and support based on students' IEPs
Design and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of individual students
Monitor and document student progress in relation to IEP objectives
Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure positive outcomes for students
Take part in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress assessments
Promote an inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth, independence, and self-confidence

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
Experience with students who have mild to moderate disabilities preferred
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with co-teaching or collaborative teaching models
Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies for diverse learners
Experience with IEP development, monitoring, and progress tracking tools

Compensation and Benefits:

$50.00 per hour for full-time work during the 2025-2026 school year
