Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the lead teacher in guiding young learners through structured and engaging activities. You will help maintain a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment while promoting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child according to the Balanced Learning® approach.

Assist the lead teacher in supervising and managing a classroom of children.
Implement lesson plans and daily schedules designed by the lead teacher.
Support children’s learning through structured activities, purposeful play, and social-emotional guidance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom, including common areas and playgrounds.
Encourage positive behavior with verbal recognition and consistent expectations.
Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and school leadership.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Follow all health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or leadership team.

Required Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of early childhood development, including social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and safely handle children, including infants and toddlers when applicable.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in early childhood education or as a teaching assistant preferred.
Ability to follow classroom routines and assist lead teachers effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Prior experience in a licensed preschool or childcare program.
Familiarity with structured curriculum programs like Balanced Learning®.
CPR and First Aid certifications.
Passion for helping children grow and learn in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

$12.00 - $15.00 per hour (may vary by franchise owner).
