Resource Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Resource Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure each student receives an appropriate and effective educational experience. Your work will directly impact student growth, learning outcomes, and overall school success.

• Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide small-group and one-on-one instruction to support academic progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional practices.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and growth.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Valid teaching license with endorsement in Special Education (K-12).
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Experience providing differentiated instruction for students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education laws.
• Proficient in using educational technology and classroom management tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varied learning styles and academic levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive learning resources.
• Additional teaching endorsements in literacy, math, or behavioral support.
