Early Childcare Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

The Early Childcare Teacher at Primrose Schools is responsible for creating a fun, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. You will implement the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum, support children’s social and emotional development, and collaborate with co-teachers to maintain a positive, safe, and engaging classroom atmosphere. You will help children build confidence, independence, and foundational skills through intentional learning experiences.

• Supervise and guide children through daily classroom routines and structured activities.
• Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with Primrose’s Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Assess and monitor each child’s developmental progress and document observations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff members.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, developmental milestones, and progress.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through intentional interactions.
• Ensure compliance with all state, local, and Primrose Schools health and safety regulations.
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and school events.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to maintain a cohesive and supportive classroom environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must meet state and local licensing requirements for childcare employment.
• Previous experience in early childhood education or a licensed childcare program preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with classroom and child-related activities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, reliability, and a positive demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CDA, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience implementing structured curricula such as Balanced Learning® or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of children’s social, emotional, and cognitive developmental needs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching teams and families.
• Passion for early learning and dedication to providing high-quality childcare.
