Lead Child Care Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Lead Child Care Teacher, you will support children’s development while guiding classroom staff and fostering an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. You will work closely with families, coworkers, and community groups to ensure each child receives quality support and care.

• Coach and develop classroom staff by modeling strong instructional practices and offering constructive feedback.
• Implement KinderCare’s curriculum and adjust learning activities to meet individual child needs.
• Maintain a warm, engaging, and safe classroom environment.
• Partner with families to deliver high-quality education and care experiences.
• Support center objectives including enrollment goals, accreditation standards, and community participation.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, teammates, licensing organizations, community partners, and corporate staff.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities.
• Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or qualifications aligned with NAEYC candidacy requirements.
• Approved state trainer status (preferred).
• 2–3 years of experience in early childhood education (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Meets state qualification requirements or willing to complete necessary steps.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to complete required training.
• Able to lift at least 40 pounds and participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Physically capable of engaging in active play and interacting with children at their level.
• Strong spoken and written English skills to communicate effectively with families and children.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay range: $19.38 – $24.84.
• Minnesota staff receive an additional $3.00 per hour classroom premium through the Minnesota Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program.
