Early Childhood Support Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Early Childhood Support Teacher at Primrose Schools, you will work alongside Lead Teachers to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children. You will help implement the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum, assist in daily classroom functions, and support children's growth and development. This role requires a passion for early childhood education, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to foster a positive learning environment.

• Assist Lead Teachers in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Support classroom management and maintain a positive, engaging environment for children.
• Supervise and interact with children during activities, meals, playtime, and transitions.
• Assist in tracking and observing children’s progress and behavior.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized classroom.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and co-workers.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff about children’s daily activities and developmental milestones.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of learning materials and classroom resources.
• Help manage classroom routines and daily schedules, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development sessions.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agencies.
• Previous experience working with children in an early childhood education setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and staff.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children and classroom duties.
• Knowledge of child development and an understanding of the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of young children.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications:

• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience in a licensed early childhood program, particularly in a preschool or daycare setting.
• Familiarity with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum or other developmentally appropriate educational frameworks.
• Passion for working with young children and helping them develop confidence and independence.
