Minimum Qualifications: - BSN degree
- Certified or eligible for a School Nurse Certificate
- RN - Current State of Delaware license with three years clinical experience
- Experience with students who have complex health and cognitive needs preferred
- Experience with middle school students preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Nursing services required for the care and health of all students in the building
- Carry out the daily functions of a school nurse, including but not limited to:
- Be on call for emergencies
- Administer basic first aid
- Dispense medication
- Provide nursing care for students to include daily meds, prn meds, tube feedings, and nursing assessment if necessary
- Maintain appropriate documentation of all nursing interventions and medication administration in eSchool
- Record keeping of student files to include medical history, required school health entry records and medical updates from MD visits throughout the school year
- Be reliable, punctual, and prepared to help facilitate the school experience
- Communicate and collaborate with school team, parent/guardian, and MD related to medical needs and care of the student, including participation in IEP/504, and team meetings
- Support students and staff through health education
- Accompany classes with students with medical needs on field trips
- May be reassigned to another building if daily nursing coverage so requires
- Additional duties as assigned by District Supervisor and Principal
