About the Role:
We’re seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dynamic Special Education Teacher with either moderate disabilities or severe disabilities license to teach 18-22-year-old students. Must have experience with transition aged students who have intellectual disabilities and ASD. This is a full-time opportunity to support students with social, emotional, behavioral, and intellectual challenges in a collaborative and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of classroom management: curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Teachers are responsible for all planning and instruction, adaptation of the curriculum for assigned students. This is a self-contained high school/post high school program with a focus on academic, vocational and community integration.
•Practices differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of students.
•Creates a classroom environment this is conducive to learning and ensures the success and safety of the students.
•Communicates with parents on a regular basis.
•Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is a must.
Qualifications
•DESE Educator’s License in Moderate or Severe Disabilities
•Proven experience in alternative or therapeutic school settings.
