Daycare Toddler Teacher

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Daycare Toddler Teacher at Primrose Schools, you will be responsible for nurturing and educating children aged 1 to 2 years old. You will create a positive and supportive classroom environment where toddlers can explore, discover, and develop foundational skills. Through structured activities, you will support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.

• Supervise and care for toddlers in a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans provided by the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Foster children’s social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and guidance.
• Communicate effectively with parents to keep them informed of their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s growth and development.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive, collaborative environment.
• Maintain a positive and open relationship with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must meet state or local childcare licensing requirements.
• Prior experience working with toddlers in an early childhood education setting preferred, but not required.
• Strong classroom management skills, including the ability to create a nurturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist children as needed.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
• Ability to maintain a calm, patient, and positive demeanor in all situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Education certification or coursework is a plus.
• Experience working in a daycare or preschool setting with children ages 1–2.
• Knowledge of the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum or similar early childhood programs.
• Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive work culture.
• Passion for nurturing young children and supporting their developmental milestones.
