1 Paraprofessional

JOB GOAL:To work closely with students on a regular basis in an effort to provide them with the support needed to gain full benefits from their education program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Work with students in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks, guiding and helping them.

2.Under the supervision of the teacher, work with individual or small groups of students to reinforce material.

3.Establishes as fully as possible a supportive and sympathetic relationship with students.

4.Assists in the supervision of students.

5.Handles behavior issues concerning assigned student(s)

6.Assist teacher in carrying out instruction or lessons to support IEP

7.Other appropriate duties as assigned.

Position Type:Full-time

Salary:$15 to $22 Per Hour

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  
  1.Meet criteria for NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND requirements for Massachusetts
  
  2.Ability to communicate with staff and students effectively
  
  3.Previous experience or coursework related to behavior modification and ability to carry out techniques
  
  4.Ability to work with children in a classroom, individualized, or small group setting
  
  5.Ability to follow directions of and work directly with a classroom teacher to provide instruction
  
  6.Have obtained an Associates Degree or higher, have at least 2 years of post secondary education or a minimum of 48 College credits or Para Pro Certification
