Role and Responsibilities:
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This role involves fostering meaningful relationships with children and families while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and enriching classroom experience.
- Plan and implement hands-on learning activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and skill development.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning, exploration, and positive social interactions.
- Observe and support children's developmental progress through age-appropriate educational experiences.
- Maintain open and effective communication with families regarding children's daily activities, milestones, and achievements.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom by following established health and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum implementation and classroom operations.
- Provide classroom support and instructional coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care and learning.
- Promote an inclusive environment that respects and values the unique needs of every child.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging learning experiences that support child development.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and supportive educational environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and teaching teams.
- Must meet all applicable background screening and employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in child care, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
- Understanding of child development principles and early learning best practices.
