As a School Psychologist at Zeta, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social growth while contributing to our mission of delivering world-class, equitable education in every community.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a School Psychologist at Zeta Charter Schools, you will lead efforts to support students’ social-emotional and academic development while collaborating with teachers, families, and school leaders. You will use data-driven approaches to design interventions and provide individualized support for students with diverse learning needs.
- Serve as a trusted thought leader within the school community, partnering with school leaders, counselors, teachers, and families to implement high-quality student support systems and social-emotional learning (SEL).
- Lead and monitor individualized student growth for students needing targeted support in emotion regulation, social perspective-taking, problem-solving, and self-control, collaborating closely with school leadership, network experts, and external consultants.
- Design and support the implementation of effective SEL programming, coach teachers on strong execution, and ensure consistent, school-wide alignment with Zeta's SEL framework.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families, supporting school-wide efforts to ensure students demonstrate Zeta's EPIC values—Excellence, Perseverance, Integrity, and Community.
- Collaborate with the Student Achievement Team and the Committee on Special Education (CSE) to identify, evaluate, and support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
- Participate in the Response to Intervention (RtI) Team, using data to design, implement, and refine tiered academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, ensuring timely, accurate evaluations that inform effective, individualized supports and services.
- Partner with fellow school psychologists and network staff, consulting on complex cases, sharing best practices, and engaging in ongoing professional learning focused on SEL and student support.
Required Skills and Experience:
- New York State certification as a School Psychologist
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in School Psychology
- Proven experience supporting students in crisis and driving student growth and achievement
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and school staff
- Experience conducting psycho-educational assessments and developing evidence-based interventions
- Data-driven approach to monitoring student progress and implementing interventions
- Commitment to fostering social-emotional learning and aligning with SEL frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in urban public charter schools
- Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RtI) and Committee on Special Education (CSE) processes
- Advanced coaching skills for supporting teachers in SEL implementation
- Experience partnering with external consultants to support student success
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this full-time position is $75,000–$107,000, with a $2,000 signing bonus, based on experience and internal equity. Zeta provides competitive benefits including:
