Role and Responsibilities:
The 2nd Grade Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports students as they strengthen foundational academic skills and develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and social-emotional competencies. This role plays a key part in nurturing curiosity, encouraging independence, and helping students build confidence as learners during an important stage of their educational development.
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction across core subject areas including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement and positive student behavior.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and individual student needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction through whole-group, small-group, and individualized learning opportunities.
- Assess student learning using formal and informal evaluation methods and utilize data to guide instructional decisions.
- Monitor academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth and provide timely feedback to students and families.
- Establish effective classroom routines and management practices that support a productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and support staff to enhance student success and educational outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, student performance, and classroom activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Participate in curriculum planning, professional development programs, and school improvement initiatives.
- Integrate instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies to enrich student learning experiences.
- Support students in developing responsibility, collaboration skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification preferred.
- Previous experience teaching elementary-aged students.

- Knowledge of literacy development, foundational mathematics instruction, and social-emotional learning practices.
