Role and Responsibilities:
The Substitute Teacher plays a vital role in supporting classroom operations by providing high-quality care and educational experiences across various age groups as needed. This position helps maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment while ensuring continuity of learning and care for children.
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and development.
- Provide attentive supervision and care to support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding children's daily activities, progress, and milestones.
- Ensure classroom safety, cleanliness, and organization by following established policies and procedures.
- Adapt quickly to different classroom settings, age groups, and teaching assignments as needed.
- Support children's engagement through positive interactions and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment that respects the needs of all children and families.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children or providing exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and work effectively with diverse groups of children.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and staff members.
- Must meet all applicable background screening and employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework in early childhood education.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience in child care, daycare, preschool, or educational settings.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate learning practices.
