Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Primrose Schools, you will assist the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and enriching environment for preschool-aged children. You will support lesson plans, promote social-emotional development, and engage children in purposeful play to foster a love of learning.

Assist in planning and implementing the approved curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten children in a fun and stimulating classroom environment.
Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities, ensuring children are engaged and learning.
Promote positive behavior management and support children's social-emotional development.
Encourage and guide children to explore new ideas, solve problems, and express their creativity.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space.
Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and development.
Assist in preparing classroom materials, activities, and maintaining educational supplies.
Support the lead teacher with assessments and documentation of child progress.
Ensure all children’s safety and well-being are prioritized at all times.
Participate in professional development and staff meetings.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Passion for working with young children and fostering their development.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive attitude.
Knowledge of age-appropriate classroom activities and effective classroom management strategies.
Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and assist with child safety and care tasks.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to stay calm and patient in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
Previous experience in a childcare or early education setting, preferably in a preschool or Pre-K classroom.
Familiarity with early childhood curriculum and child development.
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
