Role and Responsibilities:

Primrose School is seeking a Childcare Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide high-quality care and education to children in a nurturing and stimulating environment. You will assist in implementing the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum, manage classroom routines, and foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities based on the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Provide nurturing and individualized care to children, supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Manage classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all children.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, nap time, and outdoor play.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff, providing updates on children's progress and well-being.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom, ensuring all materials and supplies are properly stocked.
• Support children’s developmental milestones by providing positive reinforcement and encouragement.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A 2-year degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting is preferred.
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and engage in physical activities such as assisting children with mobility or managing emergencies.
• Availability: Flexible schedule with the ability to work between school hours (7:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
• Childcare Expertise: Strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices.
• Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, families, and coworkers.
• Classroom Management: Ability to maintain a positive and organized classroom environment while supporting the Lead Teacher.
• Teamwork: Works well with others in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
• Patience and Empathy: Ability to nurture children with patience, understanding, and kindness while supporting their individual needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an accredited early childhood education program.
• Familiarity with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum or similar educational frameworks.
• Knowledge of child development principles and classroom management strategies.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with children, parents, and staff.
• Certification in early childhood education (CDA, ECE, or similar).
