Role and Responsibilities:
The Child Care Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This role involves fostering meaningful relationships with children and families while ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom experience.
- Plan and implement hands-on learning activities that support children's developmental needs and interests.
- Create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
- Observe and monitor children's progress, development, and daily activities.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's milestones and experiences.
- Ensure the classroom remains safe, clean, organized, and compliant with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development through age-appropriate practices.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to develop and implement engaging curriculum and learning experiences.
- Provide attentive supervision and care to ensure the well-being and safety of all children.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Related college-level coursework or Child Development Associate (CDA) coursework required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) for children.
- Ability to create engaging learning experiences tailored to children's developmental stages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment.
- Must meet all applicable background check and employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities.
- Passion for supporting early childhood learning and development.
