Role and Responsibilities:
The Certified School Psychologist will support students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being. As a key member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, you will assist in promoting student success by assessing needs, providing insights, and offering specialized recommendations. This is a full-campus float position, covering multiple school sites in a district and requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work in diverse academic and social settings.
- Administer diagnostic assessments to evaluate cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning using intelligence and academic performance tests to determine diagnoses and offer recommendations for specialized services.
- Evaluate academic progress using curriculum-based measures and adjust strategies to support learning needs.
- Observe students in various academic and social settings to gather data on behavior, emotional well-being, and overall functioning.
- Provide consultative psychology services to parents, teachers, and school staff, offering guidance on strategies that support social, emotional, and academic growth as outlined in IEPs.
- Collaborate with IEP teams and provide input on student progress, behavior, and recommendations for intervention or accommodations.
- Offer individual and group counseling to address personal, academic, and behavioral challenges and promote a positive school climate.
- Participate in crisis intervention and provide support to students and staff during emotionally challenging situations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Doctorate in School Psychology.
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certification required for practice in the applicable state.
- Experience working with students of all ages in K-12 settings, providing psychological assessments, counseling, and consultation services.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic assessments, academic evaluations, and behavioral interventions.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and offer insights based on data-driven findings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
