Role and Responsibilities:
As a Educational Psychologist, your primary focus will be to deliver comprehensive psychological services aimed at supporting students, their families, and school staff. This role emphasizes assessment, intervention, and consultation to facilitate student development and enhance positive learning environments.
- Conduct thorough psychological evaluations and assessments to determine the needs, strengths, and learning styles of students.
- Develop and execute tailored intervention plans and behavior support strategies to address individual student needs.
- Provide counseling and therapeutic services to students, helping to address emotional, behavioral, and social issues.
- Consult with educators, school leaders, and families to devise strategies that support student well-being and academic success.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, offering expert recommendations and guidance.
- Track student progress and make adjustments to interventions based on measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address school-wide mental health and behavioral challenges.
- Provide support during crisis situations, offering intervention strategies in response to emergencies affecting students or staff.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress in compliance with district policies and confidentiality standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain up-to-date with the latest practices in educational psychology.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A Doctoral or Master’s degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Current certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in the relevant state.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing counseling within a school environment.
- In-depth knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and best practices in education.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency with relevant software for assessment, documentation, and communication purposes.
