Role and Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Resource Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized instruction and support to students with various learning needs. You will ensure the successful implementation and tracking of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while collaborating closely with fellow educators and families to ensure measurable progress and achievement for each student.

Deliver individualized instruction and support in line with students' IEPs
Design and implement lesson plans specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
Track and document student progress relative to their IEP objectives
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure positive student outcomes
Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and evaluations
Create and maintain an inclusive classroom that nurtures student self-confidence and independence

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a closely related field
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
Experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities is preferred
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with co-teaching or collaborative teaching strategies
Knowledge of research-based instructional techniques for diverse learners
Experience in IEP development, monitoring, and using IEP tracking tools

Compensation and Benefits:

$50.00 per hour for full-time employment for the 2025-2026 school year
