Role and Responsibilities:
As a K12 Psychologist, your main responsibility will be to provide psychological services that support students, their families, and educational staff. You will conduct assessments, develop interventions, and collaborate with others to foster positive student growth and a conducive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to understand students' strengths, challenges, and preferred learning styles.
- Create and implement personalized intervention strategies and behavioral support plans to meet individual student needs.
- Offer individual and group counseling to address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges students may face.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies that support student well-being and academic progress.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) and CSE (Committee on Special Education) meetings, offering professional advice and recommendations.
- Track and evaluate student progress, adjusting interventions based on assessment results and observable outcomes.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to address school-wide mental health and behavioral issues.
- Provide crisis intervention services in response to emergencies involving students or staff.
- Ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping of assessments, interventions, and student progress in compliance with district policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school psychology.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A Doctoral or Master's degree in School Psychology or a closely related field.
- Current certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in the relevant state.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing counseling services in educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of special education regulations, IEP processes, and best educational practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for assessments, documentation, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in crisis intervention and managing behavioral support programs.
- Familiarity with evidence-based strategies for addressing students' academic, emotional, and social challenges.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within various school environments.
