Special Needs Educator

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs Educator, you will provide tailored support and instruction to students with diverse learning requirements. You will be responsible for the successful execution and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), working alongside fellow educators and families to support students’ academic growth and success.

• Offer individualized teaching and assistance in line with each student's IEP
• Design and implement lesson plans customized to meet the unique needs of each student
• Track and document student progress in relation to IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure positive student outcomes
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and evaluations
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters student independence and self-esteem

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a closely related field
• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities is preferred
• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in co-teaching or collaborative teaching strategies
• Familiarity with research-based teaching methods for diverse learners
• Experience with IEP development, management, and tracking tools

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly rate of $50.00 for full-time employment during the 2025-2026 school year
