Substitute Teacher Aide

Position Overview:

ESS Direct is seeking dependable Substitute Teacher Aides to support classroom instruction and assist teachers in providing a positive learning environment for students. In this role, you will help reinforce lessons, provide additional assistance to students who need extra support, and contribute to maintaining an organized and safe classroom. Substitute Teacher Aides play an important role in supporting both teachers and students, helping ensure that daily classroom activities run smoothly and effectively.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support to individual students or small groups to reinforce classroom lessons.
• Assist the classroom teacher with classroom management and supervision of students.
• Help prepare instructional materials and set up classroom equipment.
• Supervise students in various school settings such as cafeterias, hallways, playgrounds, and school activities.
• Support students’ physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Assist students with special needs by following guidelines outlined in individualized support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
• Ability to work effectively with students and educators in a classroom environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, adaptability, and a supportive attitude toward student learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with classroom support practices and student supervision.
• Experience assisting students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Interest in pursuing a career in education or student support services.

Compensation and Benefits:

ESS Direct offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $13 to $22 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Employees may also benefit from flexible scheduling, ongoing training and support, and opportunities to gain valuable experience within educational environments.
