Role and Responsibilities:

As an English Teacher at Johnston County Schools, you will inspire and guide students in developing strong reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will design engaging lessons, foster a positive learning environment, and assess student progress to ensure academic growth. Key responsibilities include:

• Plan and deliver dynamic English lessons that meet curriculum standards and learning objectives.
• Develop and implement instructional strategies that engage diverse learners.
• Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and observations, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and instructional practices.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and a love of learning.
• Integrate technology and educational resources to support student engagement and achievement.
• Participate in professional development and school activities to continuously improve teaching skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching license or certification for the state of North Carolina.
• Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, writing, and reading comprehension.
• Experience developing lesson plans and delivering instruction for K-12 students.
• Proficiency in classroom technology and digital learning platforms.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in English, Education, or Curriculum and Instruction.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans.
• Familiarity with assessment tools and student performance analytics.
• Participation in professional teaching organizations or continued education programs.
