What You’ll Do:
This position will provide critical coverage to literacy classrooms in elementary schools throughout the district for short and long term absences of classroom teachers for the duration of the 25-26 school year. This role will be responsible for providing literacy instruction to students using the school’s identified curriculum, collaborating with other staff, and grading as appropriate for the coverage.

Work Year:Teachers in Salem Public Schools work a 185 day school year (180 student contact days plus 5 professional development days. Please click here to view the 2025-26 district and/or school calendars. Continued employment in SY 26-27 is dependent upon the availability of grant funding.
Salary:Teacher salaries in the Salem Public Schools are determined by the Salem Teachers Union collective bargaining agreement, 2024-2027 .
