Role and Responsibilities:

As a Academic Support Teacher, you will design and deliver individualized instruction that supports both academic development and social-emotional growth. You will help maintain a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent student progress.

Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s learning goals and needs
Plan and deliver engaging lessons using differentiated instructional strategies
Create and maintain a structured classroom environment that encourages safety, routine, and positive behavior
Monitor student progress and complete accurate documentation, reports, and evaluations
Support and collaborate with classroom staff to ensure consistent execution of student learning plans

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with a valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification
At least three months of experience working with individuals with disabilities
Strong understanding of child development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management strategies
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead classroom instruction and collaborate effectively within a team-based environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting students with autism or emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs
Knowledge of therapeutic and supportive instructional approaches in education settings
Additional training or certifications in behavior intervention or social-emotional learning
