Role and Responsibilities:

As an After School Preschool Teacher at Primrose School, you will provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for preschool-aged children after their regular school day. You will guide children through a structured afterschool program and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Lead and supervise a group of preschool children during after-school hours.
Implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities based on the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
Encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence through activities that promote emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Foster a safe, fun, and caring environment that encourages children to explore and build relationships.
Assist with homework or schoolwork assignments as needed, ensuring children stay on track academically.
Communicate effectively with parents and staff about the children's progress and needs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-kept classroom and common areas.
Follow health, safety, and child care regulations at all times.

Required Skills and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus).
No previous teaching experience required; full training is provided.
Ability to follow lesson plans and guidelines set by school leadership.
Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with handling children and for safety purposes.
Ability to work flexible hours, typically between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. during the school week.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with children in an educational or child care setting, especially in preschool or afterschool programs.
Knowledge of early childhood development and learning principles.
CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred or willing to obtain upon hire).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
