Role and Responsibilities:
The Associate Child Care Teacher supports the delivery of high-quality early childhood education by assisting in the creation of a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role works closely with teaching staff to promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while fostering positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Assist in implementing hands-on learning activities that support children's developmental and educational needs.
- Provide attentive supervision and care while promoting a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through positive daily interactions.
- Maintain open communication with families regarding children's progress, experiences, and milestones.
- Ensure classroom safety, cleanliness, and organization by following established health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support curriculum delivery and classroom management.
- Provide classroom assistance and teaching support where needed to maintain continuity of care and learning.
- Encourage active participation, creativity, and exploration through developmentally appropriate activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with young children in an educational or care setting.
- Commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children.
- Ability to collaborate with families, teachers, and other staff members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to classroom safety and procedures.
- Must meet all applicable background screening and employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in child care, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
- Experience supporting classroom instruction and child-centered learning activities.
