Role and Responsibilities:

As a Temporary K12 Teacher, you will step in for absent classroom teachers to maintain instructional continuity and a positive learning environment. You will follow provided lesson plans, manage classroom activities, and support students throughout the school day while upholding school policies and professional standards.

• Deliver instructional lessons by following the regular teacher’s plans and classroom guidelines.
• Maintain classroom order by enforcing rules, managing student behavior, and addressing issues as they arise.
• Record and report accurate attendance, including absences and notable classroom incidents.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, and transitions.
• Provide end-of-assignment feedback detailing lessons completed, student engagement, and any follow-up needs.
• Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and expectations while representing the school professionally.
• Support individual student needs by offering guidance and assistance when appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or tutoring environments is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to different schools, grade levels, and lesson plans.
• Dependability, punctuality, and openness to accepting assignments on short notice.
• Organizational skills to maintain records and complete required reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree or coursework related to education.
• Completion of at least 30 college credits or possession of a state-issued substitute teaching permit for non-certified roles.
• Valid teaching license or certification for certified substitute teaching positions.
• Experience working across multiple grade levels or in varied educational settings.
