Role and Responsibilities:

In the role of Special Education Classroom Teacher, you will deliver personalized instruction and support to students with varying learning needs. Your main responsibilities will include managing and assessing the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and working alongside educators, families, and support staff to foster student growth and achievement.

Provide customized instruction based on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Design and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique educational requirements
Monitor and document student progress toward meeting their IEP goals
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
Engage in IEP meetings, evaluations, and reviews
Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that enhances student independence and confidence

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
Preferred experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with co-teaching or team-teaching approaches
Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners
Experience using IEP development, tracking, and management systems

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly pay of $50.00 for full-time work during the 2025-2026 school year
