Ware Junior Senior High School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for a Substantially Separate Classroom serving students through age 22.
- Massachusetts Licensure for Moderate Disabilities at appropriate grade level
- Collaborate and coordinate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Collaborate and coordinate with paraprofessionals
- Prepare and provide specially designed instruction in the general curriculum and other educational needs (i.e. social emotional, vocational preparation or experience)
-Administer appropriate assessments and use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and improve student learning
- Experience facilitating IEP team meetings and developing IEPs
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and co-teaching strategies, transition planning, culturally responsive practices, social emotional learning and positive behavior supports
- Develop and monitor IEP goals and services for students
- Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress
- Implement IEPs, monitor and assess student performance, document and provide evidence of student progress
