THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO CURRENT AISD JUNIORS AND SENIORS

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assist with leadership of elementary student groups in order to improve

academic achievement for students. This position is supplemental to locally

funded positions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Certification:

Junior or Senior status in an AISD high school is required.

Proficiency in math, reading, and writing is required.

Enrollment in a work-based learning course is preferred.

The ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students and

school personnel is essential.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

The ability to follow written and/or oral directions and to exercise good

judgment are required.

Physical/Mental Abilities

Have the ability to lift 50-75 pounds.

Possess acute and/or corrected visual and hearing capabilities.

Possess the manual dexterity and physical capabilities to perform all job

requirements.

Utilize effective verbal and written communications skills as well as a high

degree of literacy and higher order thinking skills.

Possess good mental health in order to perform all job requirements.

Be average or better in energy, health, and vitality.

Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Experience:

The experience of having worked with school age students is preferred.

This experience may be working in church-related schools, day camps,

youth groups, athletics, private schools, or similar experiences.
