The Head Girls Tennis Coach will work to ensure safety, skill development, and progress of each player during the season. The coach will plan, organize, and implement a structured set of workouts/practices as well as monitoring and support of academic development of the student/athletes. The head coach reports directly to the Athletic Director and building Principal. This position requires: MIAA Coaches Certification, Prior Playing and Coaching Experience preferred.
In addition, all Coaches are expected to:
• Organize players for pre-season and post-season meetings.
• Maintain good relations with parents, officials, volunteers and fans.
• Effectively communicate and work with students, administrators, staff, parents, and the community.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the athletic policy at Billerica Public Schools.
• Be a positive role model and motivator, exhibit qualities of leadership and organizational ability.
• Communicate with athletic trainer concerning injuries and student playing status
• Monitor and support student-athletes academic progress.
• Work collaboratively with the booster program.
Be Certified in or willing to obtain certification for the following:

_____ Coaches ArxEd Trainings
_____ First Aid and CPR/AED
Coaching positions may qualify for contributions in the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System (MTRS) if
a coach has current/prior experience working in a school district. Coaches new to the district will need to inform
our payroll department if he/she should be contributing to the MTRS. Otherwise, he/she would contribute to
OBRA.
