Role and Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), provide instruction tailored to students' unique needs, and collaborate with other educators and school staff to ensure student success. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students' lives by supporting their academic and social growth.

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs and adjust plans as necessary to support student progress.
• Deliver specialized instruction and adjust lesson plans based on individual needs, focusing on skills such as reading, math, and social-emotional learning.
• Monitor and report on student progress toward IEP goals and provide updates to parents, guardians, and school administration.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, speech therapists, and school professionals to support student success.
• Manage a structured and positive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
• Implement strategies for managing behavior and supporting positive social skills.
• Engage with parents and guardians to share feedback and develop strategies to support learning at home and school.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations related to special education services, including confidentiality, reporting, and documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid state certification in Special Education or the ability to obtain certification.
• At least 1-2 years of special education teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, or emotional disturbances is a plus.
• Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create and adapt lesson plans based on individual student needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with students who have learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, or emotional disturbances is a plus.
