Role and Responsibilities:

As a High School Physics Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned physics instruction that builds conceptual understanding and analytical thinking. You will create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence, curiosity, and student achievement in STEM education.

• Plan and deliver high-quality Physics lessons aligned with curriculum standards, including mechanics, energy, waves, electricity, and magnetism.
• Develop instructional materials, assessments, and lab activities to support student learning and scientific inquiry.
• Use data-driven instruction to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies for improved outcomes.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.
• Prepare students for exams, including Regents or AP Physics assessments where applicable.
• Incorporate hands-on experiments and technology to enhance engagement and conceptual understanding.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and academic staff to align instructional strategies and share best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Education, or a related STEM field (Master’s preferred).
• Teaching certification or eligibility for certification in secondary education.
• 1–3+ years of experience teaching high school Physics or related science subjects.
• Strong knowledge of Physics concepts including mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, and modern physics.
• Experience using data to inform instruction and improve student performance.
• Proficiency in educational technology tools and digital learning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching AP Physics or advanced STEM courses.
• Background in inquiry-based or laboratory-based science instruction.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Experience working in charter school or high-performance academic environments.
